We’re a technology company that partners with local Parks & Rec departments and community institutions to enable people to play more. We want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to access sports facilities, pick up new hobbies, and connect with their community through these activities. And we’re creating the tools to do just that.
What we do
Tech: We’re building modern, efficient tools that allow Parks and Rec departments to focus on what they do best: build thriving communities. We reduce the overhead required to manage programming, facilities, and instruction in any city. For residents, we make it easy to stay up to date, play, learn, and connect with their community.
More ways to play: Once a city facility is powered by Rec, our platform goes to work. We’re not just a website - we actually create more ways for everyone to get playing. We help people find coaches and clinics, connect with similarly skilled players, compete in organized tournaments, all at their favorite city location.
How we do it
Sports and recreation drives the heartbeat of a city - and we know it’s critical to build tools that actually work. That’s why at Rec, we spend countless hours side-by-side with Parks & Rec departments to understand their efforts to build community, engage more people, and share the resources of a city equitably. We also learn from community leaders, coaches, facilitators, and player groups themselves, to understand the needs of everyone in a city. We’re using these inputs to build Rec, a platform that can power more play for every member of the community.
Who we are
We’re a team of people passionate about sports and community – whether that’s former softball league organizers, community pool lifeguards, minivan driving soccer dads, or tennis players that also love pickleball (a rare breed!). We’ve spent our careers building simple products that can transform our everyday lives (like Google Maps and Uber Eats!), and we’re excited to apply our collective experience to a simple mission: make it easier for people to be active and connect with their community.
